SAN ANTONIO THREADS

San Antonio Threads began when founder Cathy Hamilton, a CASA volunteer, noticed that many of the foster youth she worked with lacked basic clothing. Foster parents often couldn’t provide essentials, and Cathy began posting online, asking for new or gently used clothes and shoes.
Kym Rapier saw one of these heartfelt posts and immediately stepped in. Through early support from Kym’s Angels Foundation, Cathy was able to transform San Antonio Threads from a grassroots effort into a full-scale operation—offering only brand-new clothing, shoes, undergarments, hygiene products, backpacks, and more.
As the relationship deepened, Kym’s Angels Foundation provided a $1 million gift to sustain and expand the program. Today, San Antonio Threads supports thousands of foster youth, teens, and students across the region—restoring dignity and providing hope, one outfit at a time.
