BLESSED ANGELS COMMUNITY CENTER

In 2018, Kym Rapier came across a humble yet powerful Facebook post from Blessed Angels Community Center—a small nonprofit sharing photos of food donations stacked to the ceiling, all destined for elderly residents in need. Moved by the mission and spirit of CEO Marion Thomas, Kym saw an opportunity to help the organization grow and serve even more.
Through a $1 million gift from Kym’s Angels Foundation, Blessed Angels was able to relocate into a space more than ten times the size of its original facility. What started as a food and hygiene distribution center has blossomed into a full-scale community hub for seniors across San Antonio.
Today, the center offers a weekly calendar of activities for seniors aged 60 and up—including dance classes, exercise sessions, computer lessons, crafts, and monthly birthday celebrations. Holidays are made special with themed gatherings for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Fiesta San Antonio, Veterans Day, and more.
Beyond food, the support now includes fans and heaters during extreme weather, furniture, blankets, clothing, and gift cards. Kym’s investment turned a grassroots operation into a vibrant, joyful sanctuary—one that now welcomes over 250 seniors at each opening and provides them with dignity, joy, and belonging.
